Just announced from Pitchfork this morning that Thao Nyguen from Thao With The Get Down Stay Down and Mirah are teaming up for an album that is due to be out in late April. This is very exciting to see these two incredible indie artists team up!

Unlike other duo's both present and future such as, M. Ward with Zoey Daschenal to form She and Him and the upcoming Kanye West and Jay-Z collaboration. Thao and Mirah have similar yet contrasting styles. Both are considered alternative folk rockers, however Thao creates a bit more eclectic and upbeat danceable tracks, where Mirah shifts between sweet and tender love songs to snarky and sassy break up tunes. The two were recently on tour together and formed a fast friendship, which led to the development of the album that will be released on Kill Rock Stars label. Personally, I'm quite a Mirah fan and have steadily grown into digging Thao's material, so I think it will be an interesting collaboration that will be fantastic.
